Overview

A UI design project supporting a cross-functional team developing a mobile application for managing users' submitted requests and their associated statement documents. The work focused on introducing new functionality to the product while improving mobile usability and visual clarity.

Challenge

While the development team handled core functionality, design support was needed to implement additional features in a mobile-friendly way. Key challenges included designing a bulk select and download experience, adding filtering and sorting capabilities, and reducing visual clutter in dense request and statement views.

Approach

I redesigned the mobile interface with a focus on ease and efficiency, condensing information to make screens easier to read and introducing cleaner and more consistent icons in place of text.

Filter and sort interfaces were created using familiar, modern UI patterns inspired by other applications, ensuring users could quickly understand and adopt the new functionality. Throughout the redesign, I prioritized a cleaner visual hierarchy and streamlined layouts to reduce fatigue and confusion while supporting more complex interactions.

Outcome

The updated UI delivered a modern and approachable mobile experience that supported the original goal of the project. The designs provided the development team with clear and implementable direction while aligning the app with contemporary usability standards.
